PM said the Government is making major investments in the MRT system, spending $60b over 10 years. But train projects take time to complete. So, the Government is also working on Bus Services Enhancement Programme. Commuters should start to see new services and better frequencies by next month.
On healthcare, PM noted that new hospitals are being built - Ng Teng Fong Hospital in Jurong and another in Sengkang. The Government plans to build more nursing homes and day care centres but PM was quick to add that the best and cheapest healthcare is to keep fit and live healthily.
PM also said the Government knows the concerns of singles who can only buy from the resale market but not directly from HDB. He said that MND is looking into this issue.
